Love the rain barrel, I have two, they fit perfectly into our 18th century home and gardens motif. Ordered with the wooden stand and tied them to the garden sheds. The first one leaked at first but after it had a chance to swell it's tight as can be. So much better looking then the plastic versions, particuliarly for a period look.

First barrel I received was lopsided, metal rings were misaligned, and the wood was not stained/finished but instead was gray and worn (I had ordered the finished option).
I sent them photos and they shipped a replacement barrel. The 2nd barrel didn't have all the problems, but had the same unstained/unfinished gray, weathered wood, looking nothing like the online photo. After sending them photos again, they said that was the finished barrel. Makes no sense. Confusing. I'll be staining it myself.

Completely satisfied with the barrel. The down spout however would restrick sufficient water supply to the barrel sending more water out the down spout than into the barrel. My down spout was received damaged so I was able to pick up supplies at my local hardware store and install a double down spout supply. The only down fall was I needed to cut a 3" hole In The top of the barrel.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I wanted a rain barrel that would fit in with my porch. I'm going for an old world look and this compliments my yard just right. I will need to put a finish on the metal rings but the color is my choice which is what I wanted . Can't wait to have the neighbors in to see my new addition :0)

This rain barrel would not hold water from day 1. We tried everything to get the water to stay in this rain barrel. It kept popping leaks around the metal bands. The bands had slipped when we first opened it, we pushed the bands back up, but the wood was dry and never came together properly. It is a great decorative piece but unfortunately we wanted to be able to use it as well.

Q1: Where does the overflow go?
A: The included diverter kit hooks up to the overflow and acts as a regulatory device. When the rain barrel is full, the diverter simply sends the excess water back to the down spout instead of into the rain barrel.
