Description

Finally, a rain barrel that doesn't look like a rain barrel! If you've put a lot of care into your landscaping, have a persnickety homeowners' association, or just don't love the aesthetics of traditional rain barrels, check out the WaterStone Rainwater Collection System. Cleverly masquerading as a boulder, the WaterStone rain barrel blends right into your landscape. Unlike an ordinary yard decoration, the WaterStone helps you save money, reduce your water usage, and irrigate your lawn and garden with fresh, chemical-free water.

Use the included downspout diverter kit to attach the WaterStone to your rain gutter. After about two hours of moderate rainfall, your handsome lawn ornament will be filled with rainwater. Attach a soaker hose to the WaterStone to direct your water to a nearby garden, or save it for a sunny day. Rain barrel water is perfect for watering plants, washing cars, or just about anything you would normally do with water from a hose. Need more than 40 gallons of water at a time? Get a collection of WaterStones, link them together, and build a robust irrigation system without your neighbors suspecting that you're running a bootleg whiskey distillery.

Comments about Emsco Group WaterStones Rescue 40 Gallon Rainwater Collection System:

The Rain Barrel looks so natural. Because I ordered it at the end of the growing season and our winters are so harsh we have not hooked it up to the drainspout yet. Dang! I wanted to see how it worked. As soon as I can next spring I will set it up and see how it works. My husband -who does NO gardening- was so impressed with the way it looked that he said I should order another... we'll see.

Comments about Emsco Group WaterStones Rescue 40 Gallon Rainwater Collection System:

Actually no stars would be my rating. The holes in the "rock" are in wrong sides. The hole to insert the tube is in the back of the stone and has to bend to connect to the downspout diverter. There's no way to place the stone in position for a straight tube connection to the diverter as the directions stipulate. Also, all the pictures show the "spigot" to be in front. The one we received has the spigot on the low side edge which is very inconvenient and would be only a few inches from the house foundation (if it were on the front, it could be 20+ inches from the foundation.) Very disappointed that we cannot hook up and use this system on the downspout for which we bought it and it won't fit our other downspout situations either. Will have to find another type of barrel with a different diverter system. Save yourself money and aggravation and look for something else.

40 gallons of rain water will allow me to water my garden and outside plants 2 to 3 times. After calc'ing the math on my water bill this barrel paid for itself after 4 fill-ups.

Comments about Emsco Group WaterStones Rescue 40 Gallon Rainwater Collection System:

It was difficult to get the hose inside the down spout diverter. We finally got it in then I waited for the rain. When the barrel was about a third fool, I tried using the hose and nothing came out. So, I thought maybe the barrel needed to be completely fool so I waited for more rain and once the barrel was completely filled to the top, I tried the hose again and nothing came out again. I purchased a different hose to go on the barrel but I was not able to get the end connector to go on straight because of the threads so I never got any water to come. Total waste of money. Now, I'm going to have to purchase a new down spout to replace the one I cut to put on the diverter. I'm past the 30 days to return the unit.

It is amazing how much water the Water Stones collect. We were very pleased with the first stone we purchased and decided to place one at each of our rain spouts. Wonderful for the environment and fantastic when the water bill comes. The stones are attractive with plants surrounding them. The were easy to install and easy to extract the rain water.

                    Customer Q & A

Q1: Do I have to make sure that the barrel is drained for the winter?

A: It is recommended to be drained because it is plastic and if the water freezes it could crack.

Q2: Do you have a diagram of the barrel with the over flow and instructions?

A: Yes, please see the last page of the installation guide for more details on linking two water stones together.
