Solidly made, inexpensive and requires no assembly. This rain barrel is utilitarian as opposed to decorative, but it does blend in. We use it to collect water from our air conditioner and dehumidifiers as well as rain water. The barrel is "green" not only because it conserves water but because it is recycled from an old shipping barrel. Our barrel smelled like the pimentos that were originally shipped in it when it first arrived, but the smell has diminished and is not a problem. We ordered a second barrel because we like our first one so much.

The design of this barrel is good in that it does not keep water in the top of it like the ones designed to hold flowers. This is really important in mosquito country as the flower container type are favorite spots for mosquitoes to breed. This one also has the spouts for the hose and connecting to other tanks in all the right places. Mine is so new it has not filled with water yet, so I cannot say how it functions, but it looks like it will be fine. The only negative is that both barrels (I ordered two) arrived with scratches, making it look somewhat used. I have them behind vegetation, but still when you order something new you want it to arrive looking new. Also wish it was easier to find connection hoses that fit.

Removed from box and it was ready to be used...nothing to do except level the ground where it was to sit...price unbeatable and quick shipping
