We use our Terra Cotta rain barrel by using it to water the house plants because it has a spigot. We attach a hose and water all the house plants. There is no better water for house plants! We had been looking for about a year for a couple rain barrels when I found this one. It has screen on top to keep the bugs and leaves out. It is so good and a great item, we bought one for my mother, sister in law and aunt!

DO NOT GIVE THIS AS A GIFT!!! I bought two and they are easy to hook up and connect to each other but they are UGLY. Make sure you can put them behind the house or somewhere hidden. They arrived filthy and seriously scarred all over. They had big deep dig marks all over them...used is the understatement of the year. I would recommend them because they are functional but if you want something pretty choose another.

Bought one of these last year and it is perfect for keeping my plants watered. This year I have even more plants and want to keep them from wilting so another barrel to store water during the rainy season and use during the dry times

Looks like it will do exactly what I need it to do. Will be attaching a soaker hose for my tomato plants, etc. this summer. The price was great on this one. I gave it four stars only because the only color on sale was the terra cotta. But I will paint.
