This barrel, in its garden-friendly colors, is crafted of food-grade material including partial pre-consumer recycled content. The black option is made of 100% recycled material. Here is a more detailed look at all the great features of this rain barrel, and how it stands up against the rest:

Spill Control Top
The raised outer splash rim and recessed center of the SpringSaver focuses downspout water flow to the inside of the barrel. This prevents splashing and overspill when rain flows from the downspout. Most barrels don't have this recessed top feature so water spills over the top, soaking the home's foundation. With other "flat top barrels" spilling and overflow also occur when the storage capacity is full and rain has no way to enter the barrel. With SpringSaver's quad overflow ports, plus a flash overflow channel, there are multiple options for spill and splash control.

Multiple Overflows
The SpringSaver is designed with four overflow ports so you can connect it to multiple runoff or irrigation hoses. The barrel arrives with four adaptors so you can connect a 5/8-inch garden hose directly to the back. Then you can configure your runoff or irrigation preferences. These access points are also ideal for connecting the barrels together with the free linking hose.

Flash Overflow Channel
During flash rain storms, most rain barrels can't handle extreme water flow so excess rain spills over the top near the foundation of your house. Even barrels with large intakes experience this problem because once they're full, limited overflow prevents water from moving into the barrel. This problem is solved with the SpringSaver thanks to the front overflow channel. When the barrel is full or the four overflow ports are at full flow capacity, excess water cascades forward, away from the barrel and house foundation.

Linking Kit
This rain barrel includes a linking kit so you won't pay an extra dime to connect it with other barrels in the series. By connecting barrels through any of the four overflow ports, you can quickly link barrels of the same series. The ports are arranged two up on both sides of the barrel, giving you versatility. Since the ports are stacked on each side, the linking hose can flow high to low between barrels. Unlike other rain barrels, this means that additional barrels be arranged at the same ground level rather than needing to be arranged downhill in series. A 4-foot hose is included for linking barrels or it can be used for one of the overflow exits.

Dual Spigot Access
The SpringSaver barrel is configured with two spigot access points. One is at the bottom of the barrel for complete water access while an alternative access is proved 12 inches up for convenient filling of watering cans and water pails. A threaded spigot will enable dispensing water from either height, or connecting a hose for distant watering. One of the four included overflow connectors can also be utilized for connecting a hose directly to the secondary access point.

Flat Back Profile
Thanks to the flat back design of this barrel, it aligns tightly to building and walls with minimal impact on outdoor space. This compact design also makes transporting it easier since it's easier to carry than a round barrel and fits in almost any trunk or back seat. This portable size also makes set up quick and easy.
