I love the look of this rain barrel; it compliments the natural surroundings outside. Easy set up and decent size water capacity. I haven't had it long enough to go through a rain cycle, but I fear that the overflow port will not accomodate a heavy rainfall, which means water will run out the top and around the barrel. I have two other barrels by a different manufacturer that have large 3 1/2" overflow ports. I plan on converting this one using a fitting to make a larger port for this problem. The barrel was more economical than my others and much more attractive, so I don't mind the extra effort to customize the problem. Will most likely purchase another. Attached pics show barrel and the original overflow port.

This is my 3rd rainbarrel, all exactly the same and it was so nice to get it at a discount. My other two have been filling up each time it rains so I water my plants and NO WATER BILL!!

Do not buy! The spigot threads are not compatible with the barrel threads and even if they were my barrels came cross-threaded. After re-trying to install the spigot with teflon tape and silicon, it still leaked.
The design is also goofy, the large opening at the top allows too much water to be lost to evaporation. One would think the opening would fit a standard downspout.

Normally I do not like plastic stuff, but this barrel is good looking, clean, and still rustic, and with removable filter and upgraded copper spout the best I could wish for:)

Q1: Where does overflow water come out of and is there a way to take overflow water away from the foundation?
A: You can take an old piece of garden hose and a threaded nipple and thread it into the overflow location.
Q2: Do you sell an attachment for the overflow valve, that can attach to a hose?
A: Unfortunately we do not have an attachment of this sort available for sale at this time.
Q3: Is the spigot brass or plastic? I see you indicate that it has been improved; however reviews indicate concern.
A: The spigot supplied is brass. In the past this rain barrel did use a plastic one, but it has been improved and upgraded to brass.
Q4: In Better Homes and Gardens magazine they have a picture of your RTS wood grain barrel. Their picture shows a different spigot. Can you explain that?
A: We think that article is showing the old style plastic plastic spigot. Now this rain barrel comes with a better quality brass spigot.
Q5: Does a garden hose fit the spigot?
A: Yes it will.
