The rain that we catch will be used to water our flower and vegetable garden by attaching a sprinkler hose and routing the rainwater to the needed places. In our area of the U.S. we endure drought conditions and water is needed for use other than gardens, etc. Our Rain Barrel will be our source of extra water for such.

It works fine. However, the spicket is set up high, which leaves unused water in the bottom. I wish there was a drain so I could get it out, without having to clean it. Also the screen could be tighter, to keep in/out mosquitos. I like the color and style. It looks great in our front yard.

Q1: Is the barrel BPA free?
A: Yes, this rain barrel is BPA free.
Q2: Is this product resistant to cracking from the freezing-and-thawing of extreme Midwest temps??
A: It is resistant to very low temperatures, however we do recommend that you take the following steps to ensure the longevity of your rain barrel. "Empty or drain your rain barrel, remove spigot, run-off hose, and drain plug before storing for the winter. When possible store your barrel in a protected/indoor area but if the rain barrel must remain outside turn it upside down and secure it to prevent animal intrusion or water accumulation which can freeze, expand, and potentially crack the barrel wall."
Q3: What about overflow?
A: There is a shut-off valve for hose hook-up or dual overflow.
Q4: Does that top section lift off?
A: The top section does not lift off.
Q5: Does this include the screen?
A: Yes, the screen is included.
